Project of the Year Nomination

Bennett Steel Inc. completed one of its largest projects ever and is nominated for a prestigious award.

Bennett Steel was not the lowest steel firm on the new Macy’s Fulfillment Center in Owasso, OK but we were deemed the most responsible bidder by the Controlling Contractor (Layton Construction Services) and the Owner (Macy’s). True to that trust by the Controlling Contractor and Owner, Bennett Steel performed its complete scope of work on time and with zero injuries requiring more than minor first aide.

The distribution center was nearly 30 acres under roof comprised of:

  • 2,030 tons of structural steel

  • 2,687 tons of joist girders and joists

  • 1490 tons of decking

The Iron Workers/IMPACT Project of the Year Award recognizes Contractors who achieve outstanding safety performance on milestone projects.

Project of the Year Awards are distributed once a year.
